The stars around Jim Parsons are saying goodbye, but in Hollywood they now have a permanent place.

For “The Big Bang Theory”, after 12 years and almost 300 episodes, it is now over – the main actors of the comedy series have been given a memorial in Hollywood one day after the last flap. The stars around Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki and Kaley Cuoco immortalized their handprints in the wet cement in front of the TCL Chinese Theatre in the Californian film metropolis. “Done,” Parsons wrote on Wednesday morning (local time) on his Instagram account to a photo of the handprints on the famous sidewalk.

The reason for the seven actors’ promotional party on the forecourt of the historic cinema was the last recording of the sitcom on Tuesday night in front of a live audience. After 279 episodes, the multi-award-winning and internationally extremely successful series about six quirky scientists and a pretty waitress comes to an end on May 16th with the twelfth season on the US television channel CBS. In Germany, ProSieben will show the finale of the series, which has been running since 2007, in the coming months.

In addition to Parsons, who plays the highly talented physicist Sheldon Cooper, Johnny Galecki, Kaley Cuoco, Kunal Nayyar, Simon Helberg, Melissa Rauch and Mayim Bialik will also appear.

For them the last day of shooting was obviously an emotional farewell. Helberg posted on Twitter a photo of the actors standing in a circle and hugging each other. They did this 278 times over 12 years before each show, he wrote about the picture. “Tonight is the last time we do it.” She is grateful for this “endless dream,” Cuoco commented on an Instagram photo showing the performers handing over their handprints.
